Am I stubborn or ignorant?

"Your ignorance will make a fool of you."

According to Princeton, ignorance is the lack of knowledge or education.

Ignorance this, ignorance that. Since when did "ignorance" become the word that slips off of someone's tongue so easily? Does it make you feel superior for knowing something that another person didn't know the day before? Oh yeah, you're so intelligent just because you are one step ahead of the game of being knowledgeable, congratulations. But wait, there's more! Not only do you win the trophy of being condescending you also get the medal for being non empathetic. If you think you're going to get good karma that way, you might as well just go and spend your days living in a library, so no one can really get in the way of your thirst for cognition.

Of course, there's a difference between being stubborn and ignorant. When you are stubborn to accept something, you already have the ideology of being obstinate. If you have your own opinion and someone else doesn't agree, then so be it. If you're mature, then you'd be classy and just keep it to yourself. Move on, what good will come out of an argument? Why do you have to go out of your way to call someone out? Does it make your chest feel lighter, do you think that they're actually going learn something in the end? Does it really benefit you to attempt to embarrass someone? Sometimes, you need to get off your high horse and step down. Being a smart ass doesn't really prove anything. It causes the people around you to question your intentions.

Now, I understand people change. Everyone has their bias and whatnot. However, it does not give you the right to go ahead and judge people for what they say or do. You're not in their shoes, so why does it even matter to you? You should ultimately worry about yourself and mind your own business. Although, I am not one to talk about how people should carry out their lives and such, it's best not to meddle with other people's situations.

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

If I get deceived or taken advantage of, then I know how to handle it next time. But if someone else gets hurt, well that's not really my problem. So why should it be yours? If you know more than someone else, then good for you. You get a cookie and a pat on the back.
